Who can attend?
School-aged children, 8 to 14 years, who have a severe allergy and are at risk of anaphylaxis.
Location and dates
The National Allergy Council is holding an Allergy 250K Fun Day in Melbourne, Victoria, just 20 minutes from the CBD. The Fun Day will provide younger children with the opportunity to engage with the Allergy 250K program and meet other children with allergy. The 1-day Fun Day will run from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Saturday 23 November 2024.
Cost
The Allergy 250K Fun Day is free to attend as we have received funding from the Australian Government Department of Health. If you do not live in Victoria, your child can still attend the Fun Day, however you will need to arrange and pay for all costs to travel to and from the Fun Day location.
All food allergies are catered for
At the fun day, children will be offered morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Allergy dietitians with extensive experience in complex food allergy will be involved in setting the menu, meal preparation and service during the Fun Day. National Allergy Council staff, clinical immunology/allergy specialists, and allergy nurses will also attend the Fun Day.
A day of fun activities, learning and connecting
Allergy 250K Fun Days are an opportunity to connect with other children living with severe allergies and our Allergy 250K peer mentors, eat delicious food and get involved in a bunch of fun activities. The Fun Day will include team building activities and allergy information sessions run by health professionals. A full program will be provided just prior to the Fun Day. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet other young people living with severe allergies while experiencing fun activities in a safe and supportive environment.
